As search engines move ever further toward employing semantic intelligence in their ranking systems, using related keywords will become ever more important to avoid scoring low in the rankings. Inbound links can come from your own website (linking from one page to another) or other web properties you control. Search Engine Optimisation is the process of designing web pages, writing content and building a network of links back to your website in order to rank at the top of a google search results page. The goal is to bring your page in front of your target market. This kind of search traffic is known as 'organic' and it is the most desirable google traffic because it's FREE! (well unless you are paying a blog content writer!) Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the practice of building websites that will rank top in search engine results. It is often accomplished by 2 main factors: On-page SEO and Off-page SEO.

Brushing up the basics

Exact match Domains (EMD) If you have several versions of your site in different languages, add visual cues linking to your multilingual content in or near your top navigation. For example, you can use flag icons to link to each country or language’s site. Apple even has a page that lists all the countries for which they provide a website version. Mobile SEO is – just like regular SEO – all about making sure your site is crawlable and findable. Also, you need stellar performance, great content and a flawless UX. Build a list of other niche blogs in your field. Start commenting on their blogs with insightful comments, and then reach out to them and ask if you can write one guest post for them. If they accept, write NEW content for their blog (don’t just copy and paste something already existing on your blog). Remember to include a couple links within your post linking back to your site, using anchor text with your relevant keywords.

Publish The Usual Static Pages

Optimize the content of your web pages to make sure that it aligns with searcher intent. Your website should contain many pages tackle the topic of your website from different angles. Visual content has become very popular on the internet due to our own ability to process an image faster than any written text. This wins the first impression and it can be very powerful within the context of a page. Basically, Googlebot and other web crawlers follow the links that they find on web pages. If Googlebot finds new links on a page, they will be added to the list of pages that will be visited next. If a link does not work anymore, or if there is new content on a web page, Google will update the index. Duplicate content as an SEO issue is a major factor. Duplicate content is when more than one page has the same content. Basically, don’t try to spam the same content across your website as this doesn’t arouse Google’s attention. This includes keywords (yes, we recommend you use keywords a number of times across your site but don’t go overboard and focus on just repetitive keywords.)

Overusing topic tags can actually be harmful

SEO-friendly URLs may not be the batter in the SEO cake mix, but they can be the frosting. Having an SEO-friendly URL is easy when using a management system, such as WordPress. One of the best tools available to help you measure the success of your SEO campaign is Google Analytics. This fantastic and free tool can be used to monitor how much traffic you’re getting to your website and where this traffic is coming from. You can easily identify pages that are working well for your business, as well as highlighting areas for potential improvement. More importantly, an SEO campaign must be a means to an end, not an end in itself. It is vital to see it in its broader business context: What sort of visitors will convert well for this business online? Is the ideal visitor budget conscious or seeking luxury items? We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Search-engine crawlers, which regularly check your website for its content and menu structure, can crawl faster through a fast-loading website. When this speed is combined with compelling or helpful content, a higher rank for your website is the likely reward."

Find websites that link to several of your competitors as they are likely to link to you too

Fundamentally, SEO is a marketing discipline, not a technical one meaning that an understanding of basic marketing principles is essential. Nothing is more important to a successful marketing strategy than a strong understanding of the audience you are looking to attract. Remember, real SEO takes time. Companies that claim they are able to get you results in a few weeks are likely engaging in unethical practices like buying links, linking to low quality or irrelevant websites, or spamming comments. These shady business practices can result in a slight boost for a short period of time, but sooner or later, search engines are likely to catch on. Not only could Google remove your site entirely, these types of tactics can ultimately destroy your online reputation. I am the last one to tell a website owner that his job is to become the local SEO or usability expert. That would be unrealistic. Why should a constructor learn SEO? He should not. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is arguably the most commonly used method for increasing the flow of traffic through a site.
